These are a few of my favorite things...

Well helloooo!
Did you miss me?
I thought so.
Life has been busy!
And... the weather is FINALLY warming up,
so the sunshine has been calling me
away from computer time.

Plus, my creating has been on hold because...
I ordered a Silhouette SD and it hasn't come in the mail yet and now why
would I want to make anything without it???
Yay! I'm so excited!
Those hard earned mileage checks I get from my school
for transporting from one school to the other
are finally paying off :)

But in the meantime,
I thought maybe I'd pass along of a few things that
I currently love:

{1}
Gallery walls.
So fun, so personalizeable, such a great way to fill a blank wall space.
I happen to love all things birds in my decorating
(hence, "Nesting Time,")
so here's a lovely example:

Cute summery bags/totes.
Who doesn't need more of these?
This little bag I found is sweet enough
to make me want to dust off my sewing machine,
untangle the thread that is lodged inside of it,
and hone my sewing skills!

Silhouette Art
I love the vintage-y feel of silhouettes,
and the fact that they can really
personalize your space too.
(Apparently I'm into personalizing)

love. love. love.

Claire's new skills.
I know, this one isn't a craft,
but I want a record of some of the amazing talents
of Claire at her ripe old age of 13 months.
Recently, she has started saying "octopus,"
"meow," and "messy."
She also now laughs LOUDLY
as if she heard the most hysterical thing ever,
whenever people around her start laughing.
She loves to hug and kiss,
and she likes to pretend to feed her babies.
She loves being sung to, and she sometimes sings along.
She especially loves "This Little Light of Mine"
and she likes to "shine her light."
She is at such a fun stage and if I let myself,
I can get pretty emotional thinking about the fact that she won't
be this age for long.
So I guess I can't take this time for granted, and soak in
all the special moments each day that I have with her.

That's all I got for tonight, so happy nesting!

March Madness {Nesting Time Style}

I have enjoyed so many of the
creative and inspiring
projects I've seen in blogland this month,
so I thought it would be fun to
document some of them in this little post of mine.

I'm not really into watching basketball
at this time in my life
{though I was somewhat of a baller back in my day, haha}
so for me, March Madness is all about craftiness.

Enjoy the following great ideas.
I hope they inspire you as they have me!

First up, this cute springy art from Jen at Tatertots and Jello

Umm, kinda jealous that these curtains are homemade,
with NO sewing involved! Wish I would have thought of this!

Friends, pretty sure it doesn't get much more creative
than this wall art made of T.P. rolls

I LOVE this mudroom makeover...
I am dreaming up something similar for our entryway...

I had to show this burlap wall art...
clearly it was made with me in mind,
seeing as how it features my last initial and all!
I love it, and I might have to make it!

I've been seeing lots of silverware art.
I like it.

My eyes are starting to droop,
so I'm going to have to call it a night.
These six projects are only the tip of the creative iceberg
but I don't have time to show ALL of the
projects I love.

In other news... we paid off our car today!
Yippeee!!! One less payment to make each month,
one less debt on our plate!
Progress is progress.
Now... do we use the money that we were paying on the car
to save for when my car dies and we need a new one (I've had it since high school!)?
Or,
do we continue with the debt snowball
and apply that extra money we were paying on the car
toward our next smallest debt, which would be a school loan?

Hmmm... any advice?

Happy nesting peeps!
{After all, it is Easter season :) }

Goodbye Winter- Fresh Ideas for Spring Decor!

I am so done with winter.
The snow was pretty back in December,
but now I am REALLY longing for some green.
{Those of you from the midwest, can I get an amen?}

Time to get rid of this:

{and this}

{and this}

Good bye, and good riddance!
{until November}

Longer daylight hours, melting snow, and 40 degree temps
have me psyched about
all of the fresh spring/summer
decorating ideas that I'm seeing
plastered all over blogland.

Here are a few that inspire me...

{Love this! It would look great in the entryway makeover that I'm planning, dontcha thing?
Check out how the talented Alison from Oopsy Daisy
made this adorable wall art here}

How FUN is this springy wreath?!?!
Add this to my to-do list...

{See how to make it here at Kiki Creates}

No, I don't have a new nursery to decorate, but if I did, you can bet I'd be making these
bright and cheery personalized nursery canvases...

There is much to love about this spring-ified entryway

I've been thinking about a big 'G' for our entryway makeover...
maybe a fabric-covered letter would be the way to go?

Aha! This is sort of what I'm envisioning for our entryway!

I could go on and on, but these are a few things
that struck my eye this week!

I hope you've been inspired!
This week, I'm excited about an upcoming craft night
with my friend Becky and my sister,
as well as Claire's 1st birthday party next weekend!
{pics of both to come}

As for Claire, I think she is ready for warmer temps too,
so that she can play on the new swing set she is getting (shh, don't tell!)
What do you think?

Happy nesting!
